Barrack Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961. He was the son of Barrack Obama Sr., an exchange student from Kenya and Ann Durham from Kansas. Their marriage ended in divorce after 2 years. His mother remarried and moved to Jakarta, Indonesia with her new husband. Obama attended a Muslim school until the age of 10, and then went to live with his maternal grandparents in Hawaii. At the school he attended in Jakarta he was not indoctrinated into any particular religion. With his grandparents and while in High school he was involved by his own admission with frequent drug usage, including cocaine. After Jr. College he graduated from Columbia University in 1983. Not much is known about his Columbia’s years. He frequently changed addresses and roomed with a student from Pakistan. He accompanied his friend to Pakistan in a trip which he claims was a relevant experience in his life. After Columbia he worked in a couple of New York corporations before leaving to work as a community organizer in Chicago. This change of direction in his life has not been thoroughly explained. After a few years working with mostly underprivileged blacks in Chicago’s poorest communities he applied and was admitted to Harvard’s law school. To note, in his Harvard application he left race blank, he also changed his name from Barry to Barrack while in Chicago. There has been some evidence that Khalid Abdulla al Mansur, a radical Islamist and close associate of the Black Panthers organization, provided funding and reference letters in his support. These allegations have not been totally vetted. His record at Harvard was impeccable and he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a J.D. in 1991. His minority status and his record made him a prize selection from law firms and Universities. He accepted a grant to write a book about race relations that after much time and pondering turned into an autobiography called Dreams from my Father. This and another autobiography called The Audacity of Hope, inspired by his pastor Reverend Jeremiah Wright are the only two books written by him. He has been retained to write two other books that are in progress. It is interesting to note that with such a short professional career the only books written are about him. Make of this what you want. He married wife Michelle, also an attorney in 1992 as has 2 daughters. Obama spurned the many lucrative offers made to him and soon after graduating returned to Chicago and as Attorney continued involvement with community affairs. He was elected and served in the State’s legislature from 1996 to 2004 when he became senator.
Barrack Obama has been criticized for his personal associations. To all the allegations a “plausible deniability” has been offered by him or his spoke persons.
Anthony Resko is a convicted felon. He served as fund raiser and supported Obama’s political career in Chicago. Some funding benefiting Resko were provided by Obama. He has acknowledged his poor judgment though no quid pro quo has been established. He did buy a $1.6 million home next to a land owned by Resko’s wife who later sold it to the Obamas at a less than market price.
Jeremiah Wright is Pastor of one of the biggest churches in a poor neighborhood in Chicago. He counts more than ten thousand members and has converted the church into a prosperous and gigantic corporation. His academic credentials are excellent and he has been recognized as a religious scholar. His preaching is based on Black Liberation Theology started by James H. Cone. Its basic concept is that Jesus Christ as defender of the oppressed would be asking blacks to liberate themselves from white victimization. That simple premise led to an extreme ideology of anti-Americanism, and a somewhat veiled black versus white racism. He praises known anti-Semitic radicals like Louis Farrakhan. It is interesting that while criticizing white American corporate values reverend Wright made his church an extremely financially successful endeavor that was willing to gift to him a million dollar mansion in an affluent white neighborhood upon his retirement. It is also worthy of noting that his personal benefits aside, his programs greatly helped the community and their constituents. Obama became a member of Wright’s church soon after arriving in Chicago. He has claimed religion as his motive. Some have alleged political ambitions and his need for “blackness” to have a future in that area. A little publicized interview in 1995 by De Zutter led to an article titled “What makes Obama run”. Obama is quoted as repudiating the anti-white, anti-Jew, anti-Muslim and anti-American rhetoric. He then praises the radicalism of the church and his wishes for their expansion. It seems logical to assume that his real interests at the time, based on his own words, was to spread extremely leftist political views. Obama’s relations with Father Pfleger, another community religious leader with radical views, could be explained in the same light. In his presidential campaign Obama tried to distance himself from them, first defending and then condemning their views. It is a fact that what we were exposed to by the media were only snippets from the many sermons of the church. It is beyond belief though and denied by his words in Zutter’s interview that he was unaware of his Pastor’s radical ideology.
William Ayers is a founder of a radical movement of the 60’s and 70’s called Weather Underground. His present wife Bernadine Dorn was a prominent member. They confessed to terrorist’s acts of placing bombs in places like the Capitol Bldg., the Pentagon e.t.c. They were acquitted by a legal technicality. Even though they claim a non lethal intent, to this day they support their prior acts and recently compared 9/11 with United States acts of terrorism around the world. To note, if it sounds familiar it is a similar rhetoric as Reverend Wrights “the chickens have come home to roost”. At present he teaches at the University of Illinois. He has concentrated his efforts into fulfilling his theory that the best way to change the system that he so dislikes, is through changing the educational process. He feels that if taught the benefits of social equality and ways of achieving it from early childhood, a new progressive society will emerge. A sort of Madrazza for radical socialism. Again compare Ayer’s beliefs with Obama’s quotes to Mr. Zutter in 1995 before their working relationship started. Mr. Ayers lives close to the Obamas and their children attend the same school. Also, and through a mutual friend, Mr. Obama initiated his political career at a coffee event in Mr. Ayer’s home. Against accusations of improper relationship with a known terrorist, Obama denies knowledge of Ayer’s past and or his radical views. He considers him an acquaintance. But there is more than can not be explained by a simple acquaintance. In 1995 Ayers submitted and was approved a grant from the Annenberg Foundation. The CAC or the Chicago Annenberg Challenge was formed. Ayers tapped his”acquaintance” Barrack Obama as President first and then Chair. During that work they shared many meetings, retreats, and small reunions while deciding how to spend the monies. Rather than directly channeling the funds to schools they were given to organizations as ACORN, a well known radical group. In Obama’s words as written in minutes of a meeting attended by both the goals intended were “to establish fresh educational practices, to break the mold” in order to accomplish Ayer’s educational goals. In the past couple of days and after a prolonged legal hassle the University of Illinois finally surrendered 450 boxes of information regarding CAC. More evidence of the alleged relationship Obama/Ayers should come to light. Obama’s “plausible deniability” of only a passing acquaintance and ignorance of his past and/or ideology should be challenged. It is my conclusion that, either because of personal conviction or political expediency, during his Chicago’s days, Senator Obama espoused, shared and worked with persons with radical, out of the mainstream, liberal ideas.
Obama has been in the U.S. senate for almost four years. He has been campaigning for president for two of them. In his short tenure he has voted mainly with his Democratic colleagues. He has cosponsored across party lines, non-controversial laws with Senators Lugar® and McCain®. The only law that bears his name was one to help the Republic of Congo. His campaign credits him with many laws, but a review of Congress papers determine that most of them were ones that he voted for as part of an overwhelming majority. He led a sub-group dealing with Afghanistan which never met!
In the last two years that we have had the opportunity to meet him, his many assets have come to light. He is smart, charismatic, a superb politician, and with extraordinary ability to deliver a speech. His ideology as expressed in his campaigning has been typical run of the mill Democrat. His call for “change” is a great political slogan but his proposals for such are not different than the ones of the last several Democratic candidates. If he is elected President his agenda, as proposed, should not alarm even persons like myself that belief that they will make our country worse. If his words are another example of political ambitions, and his true self is the one reflected by his actions and relations in Chicago, then there will be reason to be alarmed. Fortunately in this worse case scenario our political system has enough check and balances that a radical change would be impossible to achieve.
I, for one, will vote for McCain just in case.
